Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)

Lovejoy ISD's Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) provides individualized educational programming for children ages 3 to 5 that promotes early language, communication and literacy skills, pre-academic and positive social/behavior skills. Early Childhood Special Education services are based on evaluation, eligibility and the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).

ECSE is located at The Lovejoy Child Development Center.

Individualized Education Planning

In order to help students achieve their highest potential, an individualized education plan is developed for every student receiving specially designed instruction through the Special Education Department. This plan is developed after a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team, including parents, has reviewed all the needs of the child. The plan sets short-term goals, long-term goals, and determines instructional and related services, which will best facilitate the child’s progress in the least restrictive environment.
