The Majestics Dance Team seniors traveled to New York City over Thanksgiving break and performed with over 700 Spirit of America Dance Stars in the 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The dancers spent time exploring the city, seeing the Radio City Rockettes, attending a show on Broadway, and of course rehearsing, walking, and performing in the parade. The Majestics were grateful for the opportunity to spread Leopard Spirit and represented our Lovejoy community with grace on such a large stage!!! Thirty dedicated members of Lovejoy Choir auditioned on Saturday, September 14th for Phase 1 of the TMEA All-State Choir, or the 'District' round. This year's entries broke a record with more than 830 students competing! The Majestics Dance Team has been working hard all summer to prepare for the 2024-2025 season! In June, at their annual summer team and office camps, the team spent three days working with Encore Creative Productions staff with a focus on new choreography, technique, and team bonding. Next the Dance and Social Officers then headed to Encore Creative Productions' officer camp. The girls received dance instruction and evaluation, leadership workshops, team-building workshops, motivation, technique, and more! The Social Officers earned a superior rating on their camp project evaluation, while our Dance Officers received superior ratings on both of their dance evaluations and special recognition for performance and style. The Majestics wrapped up their summer with Summer Drill Camp and participated in many back-to-school events, including the Foundation Welcome Breakfast, Convocation, Founder's Day, Meet the Teacher, and the Senior Walk. We are #LovejoyProud of all their hard work and we can't wait to watch them perform for the Lovejoy community this fall at pep rallies and under the Friday Night Lights!
