Hello! My name is Rebecca May, and I will soon begin my 11th year of teaching in Lovejoy ISD. This year, I will have the pleasure of serving as the CAT/Intervention Coordinator at Willow Springs Middle School. I have a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Texas Woman's University, and am certified to teach students who speak English as a second language. I am also an Abydos-certified writing teacher. I recently completed my Master's Degree in administration through the University of Texas Arlington.
I have lived in this area my entire life, and currently live in Allen with my amazing husband, Steve, our 7th grader, Kaitlyn, and our 3rd grader, Austin. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them! I am very close to my family, and am lucky to have their unending support. They, along with teaching, are my world!will
As a support teacher, I feel that it is important for me to make several promises to all students and their families. First, I help all students to build a mutual respect for one another. I feel that this is the key to each student developing a positive self-worth and becoming a confident individual. Secondly, I plan to support a balanced curriculum that will provide all students with a quality education. I will always believe each child can achieve his full potential, and will help him to accomplish this in any way possible. Understanding how all students learn best will be a priority, so that I can differentiate my teaching strategies to meet all students' needs. I shall be kind and patient with each child, offering him a supportive hand to use as a guide through the process of learning. Lastly, I will offer a safe and secure place for all students to feel comfortable.
