Hello Leopards! As I enter my 8th year of teaching, I'm proud to be part of Lovejoy ISD's science teams again! I will be working with young scholars at both, Willow Springs and Lovejoy High School, teaching 8th grade science and GT/Biology, respectively. The 2018-2019 school year holds exciting new opportunities for students. I look forward to working with students, nurturing their growth and success this year.
I enjoy being a part of such a kind, involved community and school district. My husband and I have two children of our own, Shane & Sage, who both attend elementary in Lovejoy ISD. In college I studied marine science and am passionate about coastal ecology and marine conservation. Scuba diving was a way to immerse myself in the underwater world. I spent 10 years training certified divers and teaching marine ecology to young divers in Florida and various islands in the Caribbean. My husband, Jacob Hunter (teaches GT/Algebra at WSMS), and I met while working as scuba instructors. Several years after we met we headed back to the states and began teaching in the Dallas area. We enjoy traveling with our children to the coast or mountains when we can!
Welcome back Leopards! I believe it was Abraham Lincoln that was quoted as saying, "The best way to predict the future, is to create it." I look forward to observing the magic Lovejoy's class of 2022 and 2023 will bring this year!
