Family details - I was born in Dallas, TX. I have two older brothers and one younger. I had a very unique childhood because my dad was in the Marine Corp for 13 years. We moved about every three years. Which was hard and exciting at the same time. I believe that it has made me who I am today, flexible and open to new challenges. I met and married my husband in 1996. He is an amazing man who puts up with me so he is a keeper! We will celebrate our 25th year of marriage this December. We live in Allen and have three daughters. Ally (20) who is attending Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska on a Powerlifting scholarship and studying business. Abby (17) is a Senior at LHS who is part of the Cross Country and Robotics team. And Avry (16) is a Sophomore attending Booker T Washington Performing and Visual Arts School in Dallas. The girls keep us busier than we like sometimes, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
Education details - I tried to count the number of school I attended as a child and simply could not. I even went to three different high schools in two different states! I graduated high school from Morgantown High in Morgantown, WV. I received a scholarship to play volleyball for Fairmont State in West Virginia, but quit the team before the season even began. I graduated from UNT after attending many different colleges. I completed a Bachelor in Arts in Sociology with a Minor in History in August 2010 on my oldest daughter's 10th birthday. I received my teaching certificate from Collin College in 2011. I did my student teaching here in Lovejoy ISD at Sloan Creek back when it was a 6th-8th grade campus in the incredible Kelly Bellar's class. I absolutely fell in love with this district and was lucky enough to receive a job teaching what I love Social Studies right after I finished my teaching certificate. This is my 10th year of teaching and I have taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade Social Studies. I love teaching I cannot imagine doing anything else in this world. I love to learn ways to make myself a better teacher and enhance the learning experience for my students.
