About WSMS

Willow Springs Middle School officially opened its doors on August 26th, 2013.  Prior to Willow Springs, LISD students attended Sloan Creek Middle School for grades 6, 7, and 8 from 2008—2013, and Lovejoy Middle School from 2006--2008.  With the opening of Willow Springs Middle School, LISD has one middle school that serves all 7th and 8th grade  students in the district, and one intermediate school that serves all 5th and 6thgrade students.  This 5th and 6th grade  students now attend Sloan Creek Intermediate School, formerly Sloan Creek Middle School.

The enrollment of WSMS is approximately 730 students with a teacher/student ratio of approximately 25/1.  Willow Springs Middle School serves students living in Fairview, Lucas, and Allen.

 

Through an all Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP) Curriculum in the core subjects of Math, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Arts, Willow Springs prides itself on challenging students to reach their full potential.  This Pre-AP approach prepares students for the experience of high school AP courses by pulling in AP skills and concepts into the middle school curriculum.  The educational community of Willow Springs is committed to building an environment where academic excellence and the principles of health, equity, fairness, integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness are encouraged and upheld.  Willow Springs Middle School will promote the development of body, mind, and character in each student.
