Welcome to Willow Springs!! After 15 years of managing my home and children, I returned to education four years ago as an instructional aide at Lovejoy High School. It was through this endeavor I realized my desire to be back in the classroom as a teacher. This desire stems from my passion to see students inspired! After working at the high school for two and a half years, I made the transition to seventh-grade RLA, and I am honored to be part of WSMS staff.

My husband and I grew up in the Texas panhandle where the dry wind blows and the tumbleweeds roll! Daniel and I graduated from Texas A&M in the Fight'in Texas Aggie Class of '97, WHOOP! Shortly after, I started my first teaching job at Pearce High School in Richardson. Five years later, Daniel and I decided it was about time to start a family, and we became parents in the hot, miserable summer of 2003. We now have three teenagers who we try to soak up and enjoy as much as we can. All three of them will be at LHS this year: Braydon, a senior, Luke, a sophomore, and Nicole, a freshman.

Our family took a three-year hiatus from the Texas heat to live abroad in Stockholm Sweden. During this time, we had the opportunity to travel and submerge ourselves in a variety of cultures. Our family gained invaluable experiences which have shaped our global views and mindset. I can truly say I love learning about and discussing cultures, foods, languages, etc!

My experiences as a former high school English teacher, a mother, an ex-pat, and an inclusion aide have created a strong commitment to student development and success, accompanied by a positive learning experience. Please know, I will handle your precious children in a manner I would expect my own children to be handled; I will handle each of them with care, respect, and grace.

Looking forward to a great year!!
