I grew up in San Antonio, TX and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em, Horns!). I am currently a graduate student at Texas Woman's University working on my Masters in Speech Language Pathology. I have a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After graduating from UT, I taught preschoolers in a "total communication" setting (using oral language along with sign language) at The Callier Center for Communication Disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas.
My husband, Greg and I moved to the Midwest in 1998 where I homeschooled my daughters for 8 years. I have always been passionate about education and specifically, tailoring learning to the unique needs of each individual student.
Our family moved back to Texas in 2008 (finally). I provided in-home speech therapy as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant with Park Cities Speech, Language, and Learning Center before joining the Lovejoy team in 2010. My oldest daughter, Abby, is a senior at Texas Tech majoring in mechanical engineering, my middle daughter, Emma, is attending UT Austin majoring in neuroscience, and my youngest, Grace is a 7th grader at Willow Springs Middle School.
I love the opportunity I have to meet and work with such amazing and unique students everyday. As I strive to make a difference in their lives, they are continually making a profound difference in mine. Yes, I do have the best job in the world!
